Presidente - Votorantim
Ricardo Rodrigues de Carvalho is the President of CBA since june of 2016. He was previously Votorantim Metais Aluminum Business Director. Before that, he was the Vale’s Base Metals Operations Director – Asia Pacific & Africa from January, 2012 to September, 2014, Vale’s Base Metals Operations Director – South Atlantic & Africa from June, 2010 to December, 2011, and Vale’s Aluminum Department Director from September, 2008 to May, 2010. He has been working in the Mining and Metals Business since 1980. He has worked twenty years at Alcoa, five years at Votorantim Group in Brazil as the Nickel Business Director and ten years at Vale.
As the CBA’s President, he is responsible for a P&L of a fully integrated upstream operation – bauxite mining, alumina Refinery, aluminum smelter and casting, with a production capacity of 440,000 ton/year of primary aluminum, and the downstream operations – caster, extrusion, hot and cold flat roll mills, with a production capacity of 160,000 ton/year. The bauxite mines are located at Minas Gerais and Goiás States, the upstream and downstream operations are located at São Paulo State and the headquarter with the support areas, including commercial and marketing, is located in São Paulo city, where Ricardo is based. He is also responsible for the Rondon bauxite and alumina project and to represent Votorantim as a shareholder in MRN bauxite mine and Alunorte alumina refinery.
Ricardo is a Chemical Engineer (UFRRJ, 1979) with an MBA (FGV, 2000). He is married and has three children and three grandchildren. He was born in 1957 in Brazil.
